When we went to sleep-away camp it was a well-known fact: head to the tuck shop for good eats.
Owned by a couple of former Monkland Tavern-ites, Tuck Shop embodies the same great neighbourhood vibe with kitschy rustic décor in (much more) accessible St-Henri.
Since the fare is market fresh with an emphasis on affordability, the menu is continually evolving. We started with a refreshing bloody caesar ($7), sampled an awesome grilled octopus salad with Israeli couscous, hummus and grilled veggies ($14), and followed that with the braised pork and porcini ravioli ($12).
We couldn’t resist a slice of rhubarb pie ($6), made with love by one of the owners’ mothers. Two simple words: tuck in!
