We love a good diner, but we’ve never understood why our favourite greasy spoon had to be so, well, greasy.
But now that Blue Plate has opened, the diner experience has been revamped and elevated to an art form (think more Edward Hopper than IHOP).
Spicy Caramel Corn ($4) goes great with summer pints, while Phyllo-Wrapped Baked Brie ($9) makes a big impression. Comfort food rules here, and it’s easy to cosy up to mains like the Bacon-Wrapped Bison Meat Loaf Sandwich ($17) and panko-crusted Fish and Chips ($19).
Top it all off with the Eton Mess, a divine mix of lemon curd, meringue, berries and whipped cream ($6) for the perfect end to a perfect summer meal.
Spoon it up.
