Expensive perfumes beware: there is no scent quite as lovely as that of freshly baked bread.
We inhaled deeply while walking into the just-opened Wilde Grainz artisan bakery in Inglewood. Made fresh on site and using only natural ingredients (no buzz-killing preservatives), the warm loaves of sourdough ($8) and beer and barley breads ($8) had all our senses firing.
And although we came for the bread, we couldn’t leave without sampling the Gibassiers ($3.50) –breakfast pastries with a hint of orange and lemon—and the absolutely irresistible chocolate caramel tart ($8): a rich, creamy layer of dark chocolate on top of oozing caramel.
Tastes (and smells) heavenly.
