Culinary Cousin

quanto bastaToronto (Aug.24.10)

It’s one thing to have a go-to restaurant, it’s another to find its cuter “cousin” just blocks away.

Enter Quanto Basta (thanks to Capocaccia owner Salvatore Mele).

Starting with the caprese di burrata salad ($18), we devoured its sweet cherry tomatoes, arugula, basil and heavenly burrata cheese. Good thing we saved room, as the grilled calamari with chorizo sausage ($13) was splendid, as was the Mediterranean sea bass with seasonal potato and grilled rapini sides ($29) (not to mention the variety of wines by the glass and plates for sharing).

This spot, with a name for “enough” in Italian, is more than enough for many happy returns.
