Tongue Wagging

Toronto (Aug.11.06)

There, there. Everyone has a bad day. It's nothing that a little chocolate can't fix. But this isn't a day for some wimpy glazed doughnut or pithy pudding cup. You want something with the perfect combination of creamy and crunchy textures - rich enough to wash away the sounds of summer road construction or the nagging voice of your boss.

Walk on over to Wagamama café and ask the kind staff for the much-coveted chocolate crème brulee ($4). One look at this piece of heaven in a tin cup and you'll be diving spoon-first through its caramelized crust and into its velvety, cocoa interior.

A tip: Come before 3 p.m. or else the rest of King St. West's stress monkeys will gobble up your share. Wagamama's waitresses are accustomed to apologizing for short stock, so don't miss out. And lastly: Be sure to keep a second spoon handy - not for sharing (sharing? Pshaw! This is chocolate we're talking about) but to smack the wrists of anyone who dares come near your delectable treat.

Consider this craving fulfilled.
