Two for one offers can be great (who doesn’t love the Magic Bullet?) or seemingly unnecessary (we’ll just eat the extra pizza).
Don’t worry, we wouldn’t tell you about LeVack Block if it were the latter. This new bar/restaurant on the Ossington strip had us at Hello—would you like some inexpensive drinks and funky atmosphere?
The Friday night of our (rigorous) trial consisted of chilling with friends and pints of microbrew ($5.50-$6.50) up front in the LeVack half. Exposed brick and a wooden bar fashioned out of a vintage bank teller window set the laid-back vibe (even if the late-20s/early-30s crowd was rather bustling). After upping our energy levels picking at the Mediterranean Plate ($7) and Tuna Melt wrapped in spinach tortilla with sprouts and buffalo chips ($8) it was off to The Block in the back.
Once in the dance/event space we had a few more drinks and spent the rest of the evening alternating between the two different but complimentary areas.
We may never head east again. (Just kidding Leslieville.)
