Tasty Heartbreak

Breaking up is hard to do. Eating cookies is not. Ergo, ending things via a yummy treat lies somewhere in the middle.

Enter Mean Munchies from The Designer Cookie, a new line of sugary biscuits decorated with not-so-sweet sentiments ($3.50 each, minimum of 12). The made to order batches are iced with a range of excuses to end a romance, from the casual hook-up (“I was drunk. You were there. You do the math.”) to a long-term relationship (“I don’t really love you. Is that okay?”).
We’re fans of the blatant comfort food offering (“I want to break up…Cookie?”) and modernly honest messages (“You were so much hotter on Facebook”). We can even send a batch to stay in his good graces when it really matters (“You’re not really my type. But your best friend is HOT.”), or to permanently burn a bridge (“I’m just too good for you.”).
The kicker? Tearing out someone’s heart has never been more delicious (we devoured each white chocolate covered sugar cookie). And even though we could order a basket of assorted messages, we’ll stick with twelve identical, crispy doses of “Thanks, but no thanks.”
As the saying goes, don’t shoot the messenger – eat it.
