Looking for the ultimate party cocktail to wow your guests this holiday season? Tired of serving up Cosmos and Crantinis? Trust us, we’re tired of sipping them. We managed to chase down the busiest bartender on the west coast, the ever-charming and talented Chris Stearns, to provide you with a secret cocktail recipe from his repertoire, just for our Sweetspot readers.

Chris set up the classic cocktail program for the tasting bar at always fab Lumiere 5 years ago (you can find him there on weekends), and is a busy fella with a monthly Mixology column in En Route magazine, private consulting with bars from New York to LA, and oh yes-- a cocktail book coming out next fall.

Follow Chris’ easy recipe below and you and your friends will be sipping delicious in no time at all.

Winter Citrus cocktail

1 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz Belvedere Cytrus vodka
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz Campari
4 oz chilled sparkling wine

Shake all ingredients except sparkling wine in a cocktail shaker and strain
into a flute, then top up with bubble.

To premix these for a party, combine all the shaken ingredients (not the
sparkling wine) in a big bottle. Then when it's time to mix a drink, pour 2
oz of premix into a shaker, shake, and strain into a flute. (Or 4 oz if
you're making two drinks, etc.) If you have an empty wine bottle, here's the
measurements to fill it up with premix:

10 oz Cointreau
5 oz Belvedere Cytrus vodka
5 oz fresh lemon juice
2 1/2 oz Campari
(Makes about 15 drinks.)
