Sienna Miller may have written off boho-chic forever, but we’ve found new proof that the two can co-exist (in a restaurant, at least).

Enter The New Bohemian, appropriately situated in laid-back Kitsilano. Owners Ivo Stainao and Paul Gibbons (of Balthazar and Urban Well, respectively) have made their new, sleek lounge a place to relax and mingle without a hint of pretension.
We sipped on the Ruby Red ($8.50) – a yummy mix of citrus and mandarin vodka, grapefruit juice and Alizé Gold – while perusing the menu of organic global cuisine (how, ahem, bohemian of us). We began with the grilled Portobello spinach salad ($12) and the potato-crusted tuna ($13); a delicious lead in to seared pork tenderloin ($18) with curried organic quinoa, spiced cashews, seasonal vegetables and fresh pineapple chutney (chutneys, relishes, and jams top most of Chef Kevin Sanwell’s dishes).
After a few stolen tastes of our partner’s macadamia coconut prawns ($12) and stuffed organic chicken breast ($17), there was still enough room for sticky toffee pudding ($6.50), washed down with the final sips of our bottle of Hester Creek’s pinot blanc ($32). Did we mention that on Mondays and Tuesdays, bottles of wine and champagne are 25 percent off?
Further proof that bohemian really can be cool.
