If patience is a virtue, we’ve been downright saintly waiting for the reopening of the Calgary Farmers’ Market.
We’re thankful it’s back just in time for spring so we can stock up on old favourites from 2GreekGals, Yum Bakery and Sylvan Star Cheese. And we love making new discoveries, like salty caramel crepes ($4.50) and duck rillette baguettes ($10) from Le Petit Mousse (of L’epicerie fame).
The General Store accomodates smaller producers, with non-GMO organic products including Little Creek cherry balsamic dressing ($9-$13), 49° Organics sauces ($8) and Poplar Bluff Organics potatoes. We’ll enjoy these gastronomic delights in the bright, airy food court, which boasts twin fireplaces and seating for 200.
Good things do come to those who wait.
