Every neighbourhood needs a cool, cosy hangout with great food and a welcoming vibe.
AlphaSoul Café, Hintonburg’s newest hangout, definitely fits the bill. Behind its striking purple façade is a café and lunch spot by day, wine bar and small plates by night. Plans are underway for AlphaSoul to host regular live music nights.
We popped in for lunch and enjoyed the soul-satisfying carrot ginger soup ($4.50) and a pulled pork sandwich on olive bread ($5.50). The ham with smoked gouda sandwich ($5.50) proved equally fresh and delicious.
On our second visit, the savoury cheese and bacon muffin with herb cream cheese spread ($3.50) was a perfectly indulgent mid-morning snack.
Definitely a welcome addition to the ’hood.
