We love visiting Toronto, but we love it even more when Toronto comes to us.
So we were pretty thrilled when one of the city’s best sushi restaurants, Ki Modern Japanese + Bar, set up shop in downtown Calgary. The ornately decorated resto features cushy booths, bar seats with a view of the chefs working their magic, and a soon-to-open patio.
We started with a mind-blowing Samurai Caesar ($10) and fresh cuts of sashimi ($7-14) followed by miso-glazed tofu and eggplant skewers ($10). The fresh, innovative maki-like salmon with goji berries ($12) and tuna with kiwi and apples ($14) had us swooning.
And with all the cash we’ll save in plane fare, we’ll be visiting Ki again and again.
