We've got a case of puppy love – literally.
But the dogs we're enamoured with aren't of the canine variety. The Little Dog, sister shop to neighbouring ice creamery The Big Chill, is a teensy takeout spot where we're getting our fix of Steamies, a Montreal delicacy.
The soft, steamed wieners are available in four varieties – Original Montreal Steamies ($1.99; we love them topped with cabbage, as they’re traditionally served in la belle province), Gourmet Nathan’s All-Beef ($3.99), hefty Chicago 58 ($3.99) and veggie soy — making this joint a hot dog connoisseur’s dream come true.
Another Montreal favourite, poutine ($3.99), rounds out the petite menu, along with regular fries and chili cheese fries ($3.99).
We'll be fetching these puppies regularly.
