These days, it seems that burgers have gone from barbecue staple to epicurean fare.
And this summer, the best beef’s at Burger Bar, an upscale pub giving burgers a gourmet makeover. We tried the Baba Burger ($11), topped with grilled veggies and babaganoush, and the Triple Slider Sampler ($15) features wild mushrooms, Dunn’s smoked meat, and different varieties of bacon and cheese.
Desserts are perfect for sharing: toasted marshmallow and dulce de leche milkshakes ($6) both take a grown-up turn when spiked with vodka ($9). But the real indulgence comes with the Dessert Burger ($7), doughnut filled with strawberries, mango gelatin (that looks like processed cheese) and chocolate mousse.
We’ll never look at burgers quite the same way again.
