Great Food at NYC-Inspired Resto The Bowery

For us, NYC is synonymous with two things: amazing shopping and even better restaurants.
Now bringing us a slice of the latter is The Bowery, a new restaurant inspired by (and named after) the Lower East Side ’hood. Eclectically decorated with exposed brick walls, distressed wood floors and luxe booths),the eatery focuses on “punk-farmhouse” fare based on local, seasonal ingredients.
We snuck in for a tasting, and after devouring charbroiled dishes like the grilled asparagus with deep-fried soft-boiled egg and candied prosciutto ($12) and juicy 24-oz. rib eye ($40), we found ourselves wishing for a charcoal grill just like The Bowery’s impressive five-foot custom job.
If this is what they call a New York state of mind, count us in.
