Upscale Bar Has Food to Match

We love an ambient bar as much as the next gal, but we don’t usually expect much from the food.

So a night out at L’Écurie Bar et Table, an upscale late-night Plateau hotspot (remember the old Sofa?), was a pleasant surprise (especially when we saw the very reasonable bill).

A Cosmopolitan ($9) and a Long Island Iced Tea ($8.50) both went down easily on a hot, humid day. The short but sweet tapas menu includes a huge portion of bruschetta ($7) topped with zucchini, corn, onions and mozzarella. But it was a plate of fresh ravioli ($10) stuffed with four cheeses and topped with red peppers and basil that really hit the spot.

Go for the food, stay for the ambience.
