Though the 13th and 14th Avenue blocks of South Granville Rise have seen plenty of changes in the last ten years (good-bye, Caban; hello, Misch), Meinhardt Fine Foods has remained our foodie haven. 
Just imagine our delight, then, when we discovered a new second location three times as large as the Granville store. Located next to the Ridge Theatre, chef and founder Linda Meinhardt opened the expansive space earlier this week to much-deserved fanfare.
Sure, it doesn’t have an adjoining café, but it offers plenty of free parking (100 spaces!). We love the deli’s array of salads ($1.99-$3.99 per 100 grams), sandwiches ($7.95) and entrees (starting at $1.50 per 100 grams) and those Imperial cookies ($1.75 each) still top our sweet craving list. Of course, the St. Andre Triple Crème Brie ($4.40 per 100 grams) is a Sunday indulgence we always manage to squeeze in. Perusing the aisles uncovers the best in the dried pasta biz – Rustichella’Abruzzo pasta ($5.99). Add in the gift baskets (from $40 to $500) and we even have our forgot-to-buy-a-present-for-the-party dilemma covered.
