Pull Up a Stool at New Chocolate Bar

If grabbing a drink at a regular bar lifts our spirits, imagine what a chocolate bar will do for our mood.

At cosy, modern café Cacao 70, the hard part was deciding on a chocolate from the hot cocoa bar ($9.25). Thirty varieties – ranging from 29.2 per cent to 100 per cent by producer Cacao Barry – are on offer. The easy part? Mixing our selection (a 71 per cent Ecuadorian cocoa) with the café's base and throwing it back – chocolate moustache and all.

Our sweet tooth adored the frozen hot cocoa ($7.25) and dug into the deconstructed strawberry/raspberry cheesecake ($7.50). Next time, we're bringing friends to share a chocolate and peanut butter pizza (from $15).

Our mood swung considerably – in the best possible way.
