Macaron Shop Opens Dessert Bar

We’ve long had a weekly habit of hitting La Maison du Macaron for an assorted box of tasty treats.

And now, in addition to drooling over the rainbow of macarons on display, we can linger a little longer thanks to the shop’s new tea lounge and dessert bar.

Seasonal desserts beckoned us. The Mac’Honoré ($12) consists of caramelized apples and pears on shortbread topped with chocolate whipped cream, while the Choc’caramel ($11) is a brownie with gooey-chocolatey caramel center and zebra – chocolate and vanilla – ice cream.

Lighter but just as indulgent is the Berry Panacotta ($4.25), which we sampled alongside the La vie est belle and Goût d’enfance teas ($3.10).

We left with a pretty box tucked under our arm – old habits die hard.
