Talk about a rough morning: We overslept. There was no hot water. And our BlackBerry just told us we're in for hours of back-to-back meetings. It's starting to feel like one of those days.
Which is why we're staging an early-morning intervention at Lit Espresso Bar. Open for just a few weeks, this brand new west-end café has everything we need for a quick morning pick-me-up.
From their foamy cappuccinos ($3) and milky caffé lattes ($3.25) to their pricey (but oh so-worth-it) shots of espresso ($2 for a single/$3 for a double), these Intelligentsia-brewed beverages are definitely worth buzzing about. There's even a delectable display of homemade Panini's (from $4) and locally-bought sweets like butter tarts ($2.25), biscotti ($1.80) and chocolate croissants ($2.25) for us to indulge in.
It's the kind of experience that's left us feeling refreshed and renewed (and not even stressed if we run late for those meetings).
