Thoughts of Latin American cuisine often conjure images of tamales and tortillas: tasty food we eat with our hands.
That’s about to change courtesy of chef Julieta Moros of Julieta Cuisine Latine, who serves up dishes from her native land of Venezuela – and other Latin American regions – with a modern, upscale twist.
The menu features Venezuelan tamales called Hallaquitas ($6), Peruvian chupes ($9) with shrimp, yuca and coconut milk, and ajiaco ($8.50), a Columbian potato soup served with chicken, capers, cream and avocado. Fusion dishes, including duck magret ($21) and pumpkin quisotto (quinoa served risotto-style with braised beef, $19), offer up a delicious contrast.
A trip around Latin American is right at our fingertips. (Cutlery required.)
