The downtown business set has a whole new reason to break for lunch: Joeys Bentall.
This sleek, swank location nestled in the financial district gives the hungry – and, ahem, parched – a choice between the Long Bar up front and the Wine Room out back (though being vino lovers, we opted to check out the latter). Thanks to a state-of-the art wine serving system called the Enomatic, any bottle (from the more than 60 available) is nicely protected from oxidation. The Wine Room’s partly hidden Mezzanine is perfect to people-watch below and to rent out for a private girls’ dinner – just make sure to order a muddled cocktail or five from the Long Bar.
We couldn’t stop noshing on the Atlantic Lobster Grilled Cheese ($14.99) and Baked Brie with Toasted Cranberry Crostini ($12.99), both concocted by Executive Chef Chris Mills (who gives cutie TV cook Curtis Stone a run for his money). Nor could we keep ourselves from washing down our scrumptious dessert – the Individually Baked Apple Pie is a must ($7.49) -- with a glass of Italian Mionetto Moscato ($8).
Talk about going for a power lunch.
