Sure, we know when to say please and thank you and to bring a hostess gift to dinner, but when it comes to the finer points of prim and proper, let’s just say Emily Post wasn’t required reading.
Thanks to The Etiquette Class by Janet Watson, we’re in the dark no more. This local certified etiquette consultant provides private and group seminars to help develop our inner Miss Manners.
Watson’s combination of classroom and hands-on teaching style makes everything easy to understand. From specific lessons on international customs to dining etiquette ($250/first person, $150/additional, including four courses at a restaurant), we’re happy to get schooled.
Perfect for the season, golf etiquette will have us ready for the fairway ($300 for seminar, nine holes & lunch). In business etiquette ($250) we also learned such handy tips as proper hand shaking, making introductions and presenting and accepting business cards (who knew there was a protocol?). Plus, with private consultations available (about $100/hour), there’s no end to the advice we might seek.
Just remember to say thank you at the end. A curtsy might work too.
