Sam shares her secrets to getting through cold and flu season...
To say the least, I haven't been blessed with the best immune system. It seems that while all the rest of my friends and family get colds that last 1 or 2 days, or a 24-hour-flu, I get the beast of them both. Last week, I got hit with the mother of all sicknesses; three days of flu, followed by three days of a serious head cold. Besides the obvious drugs (and lots of them!) there are a few things that I truly believe make the pain of being sick, a little more bearable. Keep this list handy, since cold and flu season is officially upon us.

Tim Hortons
Between their chicken soup (yes it's better than Swiss Chalet) and their hot chocolate, I can't tell you how many times I sent R. here last week.

Rag Mags
When your head feels like it's going to explode, it's a little hard to concentrate on anything of real intellectual value. These magazines kept me entertained without having to actually use my head.
Available at all major grocery stores and convenience stores.

Tissue with Lotion
While my nose hasn't escaped unscathed, it definitely isn't as rosy as it has been in the past (all thanks to this soft-as-a-baby's bottom tissue).
Available at all major drugstores. |

Love Actually
The only good thing about cold and flu season is that it means we're on our way to Christmas season. This movie reminds me exactly why I love it so much.
