Mia shares her thoughts on the latest fashions from The Bachelor
I caught on to The Bachelor bandwagon a few years ago and I’ve been a follower ever since. My friends and I gather every week to watch (and mostly critique) the girls, the guys, the dates, the fights and the questionable pick up lines (Channy, you had a marvelous way with words). As Jake returned to find his “co-pilot”, our greatest source of contention with the show wasn’t the overly dramatic girls or the cringe-worthy declarations of love, it was the tacky, glitzy, “Here she comes, Miss America” evening dresses.
I’ve always believed that a first impression is key (hey, it earns its own rose after all), and while fashion isn’t everything, how you present yourself plays a role in how others see you, and in the case of The Bachelor, how much they see of you. Plunging necklines were in great supply as the girls mingled, and sparkles and satin reigned supreme. The show looked like a cross between a beauty pageant and a brothel.
If I were to be a contestant (because what season doesn’t have a token Canadian) and attend rose ceremonies night after night, I’d opt for something a little sleeker, without showing too much skin. Something to set me apart (for all the right reasons), like this Asymmetric Jersey Gown in a unique orange. For a more casual and playful look, this cocktail dress in an eye-catching print would certainly earn me a rose.

What would you opt for? Long or short? Sparkly or simple? Colourful or classic black? Let me know, and here's hoping tonight's offerings are considerably more stylish.
