Mia gets a man’s perspective on her favourite picks for spring.
After recently sourcing the
spring trend guide, I’m excited to add a couple seasonal items to my wardrobe and thought it would be fun to get a man’s point of view on the trends, so I’ve enlisted the opinion of a (very manly) friend of mine.
First up is white denim. In my opinion it's effortlessly chic. Here’s the male POV: “I like these. They’re a nice way to ease into spring without pushing the seasons, unlike the girls I see wearing miniskirts in April.”

Next is the open-toe bootie. His immediate reaction: “They look like the love child from a ménage à trois between a sandal, boot, and high heel.” I, on the other hand, think these are the perfect casual bootie for spring.
I’m tempted to give the risqué lace T-shirt a try, and not surprisingly, my friend isn’t opposed: “I am all for women showing a little skin, but note that I use the words ‘a little.’ I'm hoping you'd layer something underneath the lace shirt.”
Lastly is the trench coat. Ashleigh’s been on the hunt for the perfect trench, and I’m joining her in hot pursuit and love Club Monaco’s new offerings but can’t decide on tan or navy blue. Token male, what are your thoughts and which should I spring for?
"I love the classic tan coat. It's timeless. The blue coat's collar is a little too vampire-ish for me."

What do you think of my picks for spring? And what will you be shopping for this season?
