About Emma, Rebecca & Mia
Want a sneak peek inside the sweetspot.ca world? From product launch parties to personal must-haves, Emma Yardley, Rebecca Burstein and Mia Shulman dish on why working here is so sweet.
Whether on vacation or at the cottage, the SweetLife Getting Dressed guides are my go-to for packing. Sadly, I'm spending most of my summer weekends in the city this year, and though Toronto is never in short supply of great events to keep me busy, I'm often at a loss for what to wear, especially when temperatures soar (add to that the fact that I don't have AC and it's a miracle I manage to get dressed at all). I've discovered the only thing I really feel comfortable in are dresses. I always feel chic and feminine in a dress, and the ventilation can't be beat.
Here's a roundup of some great summer dresses for all occasions. Just be sure to mind your hem when the breeze blows.
The perfect dresses for running errands, an afternoon stroll or eating on a patio:

Staring at Stars chiffon dress (US $58), Amalle dress ($180), Patterned maxi dress ($28)
A dress for dancing, battling the office AC and a formal event:

Theatre of Life dress (US $470), Classic wrap dress ($124), Fleurette bustier dress (US $148)
How do you survive the summer heat? And are dresses a do or don't for all occasions?
