15 months, 1 week, 2 days, 4 hours and 17 minutes…
That is exactly how long it has taken me to land a full-time job at Sweetspot (and believe me, I’ve been counting). Who knew what started out as a 4 month internship would turn into an 8 month internship followed by a 6 month stint as a freelancer?
I wasn’t expecting it, but I had fallen in love (this time, with a company) and I just couldn’t walk away…
I’m not sure many people can honestly say what I’m about to; I love my job. I listen to others complain about dreadfully long days, boring paperwork and bosses who are usually described with a variety of four letter words. Here, a late night at the office usually comes during fashion week, when there are evening shows; a bad boss is nothing but a myth, and we get sweet items delivered to us daily. I spend my days writing and researching (to keep you all in the know) and rarely does it ever feel like a job.
And while cheesiness is not really my bag (although my friends will probably disagree) I thought it only appropriate to make my first blog post about doing what you love, loving what you do, and stopping at nothing to make it happen.
I know that working in editorial is not everyone’s dream job, but it is definitely mine… and after 15 months, 1 week, 2 days, 4 hours and 17 minutes, here I am.
