It’s been 20 days since my birthday (so 345 to go) and as promised, I’m letting you in on what presents I opened (and bought for myself since really, doesn’t ones birthday spread out over the whole month?).
The clutch. Probably my favourite gift, my wonderful husband did indeed indulge my love of the canvas monogram (though, I’m fairly certain it was against his will).
Another clutch. Although not technically bought in May (more like March – but they’re both ‘m’ months and I justified it as an early birthday gift to myself) I’d had my eye on Jessica Jensen’s large envelope clutches forever and when perusing at her sample sale overheard only three had been made in the cobalt blue, I had to have it.
An ombre scarf. If there’s anything in my closet that screams ‘really, another one? Do you REALLY need another one?’ its scarves. I have five Love Quotes and one of my girlfriends took notice and bought me a stunning purple ombre one from Danier.
Earrings. Notice a pattern here? I’m an accessory-junkie. Got three lovely pairs of gold earrings and this amazing gold charm bracelet. On my actual birthday-day, bought myself a wicked cougar necklace ( not thematic; of an actual cougar) from a Toronto-based jewellery designer.
Moleskines and Hanky Pankys. Might sound like a strange combo but they’re two of my most-loved things and came in one gift bag. (I’ve been
finding that because my new Moleskines are pink, they’re more effective.)
Margaret Atwood. Not actually her (that would be AMAZING) but Payback: Debt and the Shadow Side of Wealth, which admittedly, I haven’t started yet.
The deck. Though not technically for my birthday it was built in May and I’ve enjoyed it immensely so will keep it on this list.

And although I didn’t get anything from my original Wish List, the month isn’t over yet…
