I've heard that there are products in my kitchen that can be used to make beauty products. Is this true? What products are good for your skin?
Elizabeth F. emailed us at expert@sweetspot.ca, and home beauty expert, Lusia Del, answered;
We live in a very stressful, busy world. We look for simple ways of caring for our skin yet we can often overspend on products. Typically, no one suggests a defining basis upon which to choose products so you need to know how to evaluate your own skin.
Look at your face. Do you allow your face to communicate with you? Is your skin oily or dry? When you look at yourself in the mirror do you see a pimple, a wrinkle, a blemish, a bump, blood vessel or brown spot? You can help yourself by using natural ingredients to solve skin problems.
Radiant skin gives us more confidence. Making home remedies that give you the skin you desire without spending extra time or money is fun!
Here are my top five skincare ingredients that can be found in your kitchen:
- Eggs: high in protein and vitamin A
- Oatmeal: source of natural protein. It smoothes skin and can heal irritation.
- Dairy products: used because of the natural protein.
- Honey: it is an anti-bacterial that allows the skin to rehydrate.
- Bananas: they are rich in potassium, stimulating dry, wrinkled skin.
