I'm trying to grow my hair from quite short to long. It's a pain right now and looks terrible. Any suggestions?

Here is a game plan for you and others who want luscious, long locks:
1) Figure out exactly what you want your hair to look like when it's longer. For example, try to determine whether you'll have layers, bangs or want it all one length.
2) Determining this objective allows you and your stylist to make adjustments to your style during the interim period - there’s no point in struggling to grow out bangs if your eventual style will incorporate them. The same applies to layers. If you want to eliminate layers altogether, I would suggest keeping the length shorter until the layers are grown and then proceed to grow it.
3) Many women feel that the decision to grow their hair eliminates the need to see their stylist for years. Of course you will see them less often, but try to remain on a schedule to keep the condition in good order.
4) Use styling products to help manage your hair especially if it’s curly or frizz-prone. You may want to try different types of products with varying levels of hold depending on your hair type as the length changes. A good stylist should prescribe what kind of products would work best at various phases during your endeavour.
