With party season in full swing, we're asking our experts for advice on dealing with last-minute beauty disasters. Check back each week for fresh tips on everything from keeping your hairstyle in place to making your manicure last.

1 . I have a party tonight and just noticed my roots look terrible. How can I style my hair to make them less noticeable?
If you're blond, use a dry shampoo. I recommend Batiste, which is available at my salon, The Alcorn Salon. If you have darker hair, use mascara along the hairline and allow it to dry, then gently comb hair to distribute the product.
2. I've put too much product in my hair. How can I fix it without rewashing it?
This problem can also be fixed with a dry shampoo, which will soak up the oils from any products. You can also style your hair in an updo, which will allow you to group your hair together either loosely or in a tight bun.
3. How can I make sure my style lasts and doesn't fall apart mid-party?
This is all about the foundation steps you put into your style. Put time and effort into the flat-iron stage or the hot roller stage or whichever tool you will be using. Spray your hair with hairspray before you begin to get some texture buildup. Then, using a product like Nexxus Comb-Thru, spray the hair again once it's rolled or has just had the treatment you are using (flat iron, curling iron, etc.).
