At what point in the year do I have to give up wearing my UGGs or can I wear them year-round?
L.T.N emailed us at expert@sweetspot.ca; and our stylist, Kelly Millar, answered:
It's ok to wear your favourite boots into Spring as long as it's not above 20 degrees. The key is to keep a couple of things in mind:
- This does not apply to sheepskin or fleece-lined boots. This means store your UGGs until October.
- It’s Spring so wear your boots accordingly. Don't wear them with heavy jackets or knits. Instead opt for flowing fabrics, brightly coloured tops and a floral print skirt or dress for a boho-chic look.
- Be colour conscious, so leave the blacks and greys in the closet. The best coloured boots to wear for moderate Spring weather are soft brown, off-white or green.
- Keep in mind the style of boot as well. Retire the tall boots. However, it's ok to wear your short ankle boots as long as you combine them with fresh Spring touches such as a fabulous trench or floaty cotton dress, minus the Winter tights.
