It's officially Spring, but still cold out! When is it appropriate to start dressing for Spring?

Susan S. emailed us at expert@sweetspot.ca; and our stylist, Sarah Collins, answered:

Despite the calendar indicating that the birds should be chirping, and the grass should be green, it's still a wee bit nippy out. But what to do with a case of Spring-fever?
Well, my fashion friends I give you the green light; we've spent far too long all bundled up in grey and black, so start dressing for Spring!
Get into colour. Think bright yellows, greens, blues and orange! To ease into these happy colours group the vibrant shades with noble navy blue (a great basic staple).
Layer. Park the parka in your closet and opt for the layered look. A fitted pea coat or blazer can be your new outerwear and a sassy scarf can keep you warm.
Footwear. Keep your socks on! Although you've been given the thumbs up on dressing for Spring, I don't want to see any bare toes until the snow's gone. No flip flops or sandals until snow is a thing of the past!
