I'm having an outdoor wedding dilemma. I usually wear heels to add height to my less-than-tall frame, but I don't want to sink and leave little divots everywhere. Cocktail attire is requested. Any suggestions or tips on what shoes to wear?

In answer to your dilemma, all I can suggest is to look for a wedge or platform shoe.
That way you'll gain some height without compromising mobility. As the grass can be tricky to walk on, you want to make sure you've got good footing. A platform-heeled shoe will give you the overall "LIFT!" that a heel would normally, but won’t leave unsightly divots or affect your stability.
Other tips for wedding soiree attendees:
- Ensure you've done a dry run (well, a walk) in your shoes. Whether they're platform shoes or regular pumps, make sure they're comfy on your feet—particularly with newly purchased shoes that have never been worn. Scuff up the soles a bit so that you don't slip and slide on the dance floor.
- Remember to pack a few nude coloured band-aids for emergency blistering situations.
- Make your grand entrance party appearance in your first tier shoes. But know that your feet might need a rescue as you party the night away. Bring a 'back up' pair of shoes that you can slide into for when the party really gets going.
