I’m a regular gym-goer and am wondering how often I should be switching up my weight routine?
Larry TrackEmma D. from Calgary, AB emailed us at asktheexpert@sweetspot.ca ; and our fitness expert, Larry Track, answered:

Don't forget your muscles have memory, therefore it's important to shock them and overload them each time you workout. For best results you need to do a little more each workout. Depending on your program you will need to switch up your routine every 6-8weeks.

Here are 5 tips:
*         It's a "Workout"
so remember to challenge yourself each time
*         Try a new class,
instructor or piece of equipment
*         Run a new route.
Your mind and body will thank you
*         Work your weaknesses
…don’t keep avoiding weaker muscles
*         Drop the book!
Turn on the Ipod – you can’t work to your potential if reading.
