There's nothing quite like Boxing Day sales to remind us of the true meaning of stress. (Not to mention rage, jealousy and stamina.) If we're going to make it to 2008, we need to start our New Year's relaxation resolution early.
And what better way to fight the tension than at a chic, mellow yoga studio? With over 10 types of yoga, Happy Tree Yoga is the ideal spot for de-toxing after a day of frenzied shopping.
We were serene after the mind-clearing Yin Yoga and floating on air after Kundalini class, equipped with gong and all (enough to knock out "Jingle Bells" from our memory). Ready to be pumped up, we enjoyed the live DJ in Trance Dance, pioneered by yoga-lebrity Shiva Rae.
Styled in a hip, calming décor (bamboo meets uptown), we loved hanging with energetic owner Melanie Richards as we boosted our immune system with Yogi Tea - a home-made decaffeinated drink brewed with fresh ginger, cinnamon and other goodies.
By the end of the day, our holiday stresses were nowhere to be found. (We'll be back again when the credit card statement shows up.)
