Raining, Pouring, Never Boring

There’s an oft-repeated maxim that a true Vancouverite doesn’t own an umbrella. Upon reflection, neither do we own proper shoes or rainwear in general. After all, our only choices have been looking adorable (if slightly soggy) or staying dry (and looking like we’re ready to hike up the side of nearby mountain). But let’s face it, cocktails and wet feet just don’t feel right together.
But now that GEOX has opened its brand new digs on Robson, the whole city just got a lot more comfortable.
This Italian-designed footwear line combines waterproof, breathable technology that doesn’t look like, well, waterproof breathable technology. There’s something for everyone from sporty styles and springy flats (hello, pale pink ballerina shoes $120), to evening-worthy strappy sandals ($100 - $150). Their patented technology means that while our feet stay dry in wet weather, the breathable rubber sole and perforated membrane let air circulate, keeping our tootsies feeling (and, um, smelling) extra fresh.
And speaking of fresh, the store itself is as bright and modern as the products, which include a fabulous new line of outerwear for women, men and kids. With April showers in the forecast, we’re looking forward to being the new kind of Vancouverite: Cute, dry and singin’ in the rain.
