Makeup by Numbers

Call us nostalgic but we sure miss those paint by numbers sets bought to ward off childhood cottage boredom. (When else has “creativity” come so easy?)
But since the mom-look-what-I-did art won’t really work for our walls anymore, we’re settling on our faces — with DaLish Cosmetics replacing the fill-in forest scenes.
The new Toronto-based cosmetics line makes painting our faces as simple as colouring in the outlines. One stubby-bottle-sized canister ($70) housing seven tubes allows for a complete masterpiece, not to mention easy portability of the moisturizing foundation, concealer, blush, mascara, eyeliner, highligter, shadow and lip colour.
Three colours of base let us blend our perfect shade (two white drops, one medium and one dark worked for our less than sunkissed skin). And each of the four double-ended tubes has the appropriate body part pictured on it — meaning no matter how rushed we are pre-coffee, we’re not swiping black liquid liner across our lips.
The soft pink cream blush gives cheeks a subtle glow (and lips a lighter option), two bronze-hued eye shadows compliment any complexion and two raspberry-based lip colours give us enough mixing options to replace an entire cupboard of cosmetics.
Pretty as a Picasso. Just not all jumbled up.
