About May Globus
Vancouver City Editor May Globus is obsessed with the sartorial and all that surrounds it: art, design, culture, music and film. Oh, and she really likes writing about it, too. A left coast girl at heart, her Sweetspot finds just might show why the westside really is the best side.

My name is May, and I am an Apple junkie.
Any electronic I own has Steve Jobs' stamp of approval on it, from MacBook to my iPod Nano to my iPhone. The apps upon apps stored in my aforementioned iPhone run the gamut from unbelievably useless (Lightsaber, Zippo Lighter and BubbleWrap) to time-consuming (Unblock Me and Paper Toss) to incredibly useful (Sportacular, Epicurious, New York Times and, of course, Style.com).

But for every gal that totes an iPhone, there is one new app that must be on the download list: ChicWalks.
Its founder, Karen Heinrichs, spent a number of years hosting shopping tours in Paris through her company Nuit Blanche Tours, which walks visitors through the best (and sometimes off-the-radar) sartorial districts in the City of Lights. After returning home to Vancouver from her Parisian stint, Heinrichs decided to turn her shopping tours into a handy app, outlining for outsiders where to go for fashion and accessories and conveniently GPS-mapping desired locations in Paris and Vancouver (with San Francisco next on the list).
With the Olympics coming, I imagine there will be a lot of folks looking to spend their hard-earned euros, pounds and franks on local labels and at local shops and might need a little portable, transportable help. At nine outlined walks for Vancouver, that's a lot of ground ChicWalks is getting covered for one download.
So you bet I'm getting this app on my iPhone console asap -- and, yes, I'm sandwiching it right in between Sportacular and Style.com.
