All Good In This Hood(ie)

When the Canadian men's hockey team suffered an on-ice trouncing to the U.S this past Sunday, I began to wonder if a (very) small part of the reason was me.
In a blanket of red Canada tees and jerseys at my friend's house, where 15 of us watched the third period in stressful silence, I was the lone wolf dressed in lackluster beige. Had my unpatriotic lack of sporting the national red and white somehow subliminally contributed to the upsetting 5-3 loss? Could I have done more for my country??
Instead of waiting around to find out the answer during the impending Canada vs. Germany elimination game, I decided to just do it and got myself down to the Nike store to visit their customization centre, where you can personalize any tee or hoodie purchased during the Olympics at an extra $5 per patch, decal, number and/or name.
To start, I picked out a bright white hoodie, emblazoned with a red-lettered "Canada" across the front. Then a helpful Nike customization expert took me through the different options that could be added, like hockey patches from other countries, carefully marking my choices on a mock-up sheet.
I decided to have my last name run down both sides of the hood, one Canada patch on each arm, an elaborate hockey decal with hockey sticks and aboriginal-inspired eagles across the middle back and patches from Germany, Norway, Sweden, Belarus, Czech Republic and Finland running down the seam under the left arm for color effect (okay, maybe to emphasize that Canada is SO much better at hockey than any of the aforementioned).
The results were stunning, of course. Not only did I have with an amazingly patriotic piece of clothing to wear with pride during the next game, our boys ended up trampling Germany 8-2, buying themselves a ticket to the quarter-finals.
To Team Russia: when tomorrow comes, we're going to get you next.
And you best believe I'll be watching with my hoodie on.

Jersey love.

Where will you be watching the Canada vs. Russia game? What would you put on your tee or hoodie??
