As previously discussed, I was facing a bit of a
dress quandary. With my Banff renewal of vows celebration right around the corner, I have gone from a gown deficit, to now having to make a decision between two purchased gowns.
The first is a green silk
Nicole Miller halter gown, on route to my home as we speak. The second is an off-white
BCBG floor-length, silk-chiffon gown with black accenting, purchased this weekend at
Eaton Centre. Both dresses are stunning, but therein lies the rub—while the Nicole Miller gown is fully returnable, it goes perfectly with my husband’s already purchased medium brown suit, and overall event decor, which will be green, white, brown and black.
In turn, the BCBG dress cannot be returned for refund, and while I am leaning like the Tower of Pisa towards this one and it’s romantic avant garde appeal, it would necessitate a wardrobe change for said hubby—the same hubby who adamantly wants to wear his new brown suit.
For the sake of never making things easy on myself, the new wardrobe dilemma is follows: can a cream-colored dress with black details (and black shoes and jewellery) be complimented by a brown suit, cream shirt, and black tie?
Of that, I’m not sure, but I guess there are still 13 days to figure that out.
