Heightened awareness has become the name of the game for me the last couple years. With the exception of my one dietary vice, Diet Coke—hell hath no fury like a day in which I don’t suck back a can of this chemical nectar—I try to eat and drink consciously. I pay attention to ingredients, local availability, and try to source out produce and meat as natural and organic as I can get it.
So as I pay more attention to what goes in to my body, considerations are also made when thinking about what I put on my body, namely on my skin. Which is why I was happy to scrub down with Alberta-based Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s new line of 100% natural body scrubs.
Local? Check. Natural? Check. Leaving my skin as smooth as a baby’s rear post bath, lotion and talcum powder? The best check of all.
The organic blood orange essential oil-infused sugar scrub ($20.99) has taken up permanent residence in my shower for my weekly de-scaling. (The lavender-infused and milled bamboo scrubs are no slouches in the bathroom either.)
And they just about make up for the can of Diet goodness I'm reaching for even as we speak.
