I am a fan of taking the time to do what you need. So it is with this in mind, that I take this weekend and indulge in some creative writing.
Inspiration is usually easy to come by when you live in a city surrounded by mountains, but creativity-fueled solitude is best when the demanding hustle and bustle of city life are put at arm’s length every now and then.
So I head off to Canmore, much like I did
last year.
And while I plan to stay somewhat contained to my picturesque condo oasis, there are plenty of city accoutrements (with a breathtaking backdrop) for those seeking it. So maybe take this weekend for yourself too, and indulge in some mountain memories of your own.
Where to relax: There are urban comforts a plenty at
Bodhi Tree Spa. Note to self, a eucalyptus steam before an aromatherapy massage sounds like heaven.
Where to play: If I had enough patience for golf, I’d want to practice my swing at the scenic
Silvertip Golf Course. (They should really just allow you to wear the cute golf outfits and drive the golf carts around.)
Where to eat: The
Crazyweed Kitchen does not hyperbolize its name: from tiger battered catfish to red curry and Thai grilled cheese, the world-inspired cuisine is some of the best anywhere.
