Us girls, we like to play dress-up. Whether it’s pair after pair of jeans (searching for the ones that hug our butts just right), dresses that will sparkle in muted lighting at our
Christmas parties, or trying on every conceivable outfit in our closet that will go with our just-purchased Very Volatile grey suede ‘ski-bunny’ boots ($159), playing dress-up is simply inherent to our female DNA.
(It is true that some men like to get their inner ‘Ken’ dolls on too. My advice? Hold on to those boys as tight as you can…they are a rare breed indeed…)
It was with this in mind (and rapidly approaching holiday parties and get-togethers), that a bunch of girlfriends and I booked a private shopping party at my favourite boutique in the city, Espy.
Much wine was consumed—yes dear readers, I too have finally ventured into the land of vino. Not sure what tipped the scales in wine’s favour, but it has suddenly stopped tasting like rancid vinegar when in contact with my taste buds—dare I say I may be developing a palette?
My newfound wine appreciation aside, we sipped and noshed our way through various fashions (some hot, some hotter) and wound up giving a plethora of new pieces good homes.
So if the next few weeks see you in need of that perfect party dress, or just something fun to hang out in with your friends, my girlfriends and I offer the following choice cuts that made the grade—happy shopping!
