Hi there! Even though this isn’t my first official
blog for Sweetspot, it is the first one directed at you, the Montreal readers. And I’m finding the experience a little daunting. It’s one thing to write about a particular product or service; it’s quite another to write about oneself!

But it’s all part of the job, and I adore mine. I love writing, I love exploring the city. I have to laugh at the irony because although I was born in Montreal, I spent most of my childhood and adolescence sticking to the “safe” confines of NDG (where I grew up) and downtown (where I went to school). I can remember when I was 19 and someone told me they lived in the Plateau, I had no idea where that was! It wasn’t deliberate; call it a strict upbringing with a dash of naiveté thrown in.
The blinkers (and chains) did come off and I obviously realized Montreal has so much more to offer. Indeed, I thought it might make sense to expand on my
creature comforts, and promptly learned that the Queen E. has since stopped its full tea service. Sigh…Their tea sommelier was knowledgeable, professional and a total sweetheart. No need to panic though; we’ve already found a replacement. (Look for tomorrow’s
Sweet Nothing.)
As for yoga, it’s the only form of exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise to me, plain and simple. Plus it soothes my type “A” tendencies (something my husband is grateful for). And martinis? Let’s just say reviewing
lounges is a passion of mine. And if
chocolate is involved, so much the better.
The rest of the Montreal team shares my addiction to pounding the pavement, and I definitely couldn’t do my job without them. Be sure to check back every Friday (sometimes more often) to discover where my wandering thoughts – and feet – have been.
A bientôt!
