When we’re in the mood for some pastries and produce, our local farmers’ market is the place to be.
Throw in some shoe shopping and a bunch of awesome artisans, and you’ve got our new Sunday afternoon stomping grounds.
Making the cross-Canada move from the 403 to the 416 is the Portobello East Fashion and Art Market, offering a smorgasbord of local clothing, art and accessories. The Toronto take-off will set up shop July 26 ($5 admission) and continues through December for several seasons of strolling and shopping.
Some of our picks to start: On the fashion front is Katya Revenko’s Desperately Different, a collection dressed to the nines with satiny, neutral fabrics to satisfy our inner sartorial desires. In the market (literally) for a trinket or two? The handcrafted Curious Oddities will be bringing their brass and glass industrial gems to the table (and into our hearts).
Or for those of us looking to outfit our home, glossy ceramics from Lurearts Pottery add gorgeous earth tones and a touch of warmth to any dwelling.
Looks like these little girlies are going to market.
