Eating our greens may be good for us, but sometimes it’s tough coming up with creative ways to get our recommended intake.
Lucky for us, Calico Cafe, a new vegetarian eatery on Bloor, elevates veggies to delicious new heights.
We made a beeline for the secluded back patio (while it’s still nice outside) and started with a tart pear-pineapple juice ($3). We then moved onto pizza-like tomato-pecan tarts with avocado and zucchini crisps ($6). Plus, the crispy baked tofu ($13) with sautéed green beans, quinoa pilaf and creamy walnut miso sauce was as beautiful to look at as it was to eat.
Being good is definitely delicious.
