When we want fun and hip – like grooving at Fortune Sound Club or sifting through bag designer Erin Templeton’s shop – the gritty but charming Chinatown is fast becoming our ‘hood of choice.
That’s why we’re heading there for our coifs, too, ever since Coup Salon set up shop in Shanghai Alley.
Tresses trio Rosie Zollinger, Missy Clarkson and Spencer Jensen run this quaint salon tucked away from the Pender drag, which is designed with recovered wood and local artwork and carries eco-aware product lines like Kevin Murphy (from $22). There’s nothing pretentious about the place, where one can still get a high calibre chop (from $45) and colour (from $60).
We say Coup makes the cut.
