Another summer, another long hot road trip to a family wedding in the middle of nowhere. Craving a little AC and in search of a cold Mojito, we made an emergency stop in Medicine Hat.

And how excited were we when we stumbled onto hidden shopping gem Soap N’ Sudz. The shelves of this quaint downtown shop were piled high with their all-natural, locally made soaps, skin care and body products. We found the perfect cooling remedy for all this heat in their new Really Kewl Aloe Vera After Sun Repair Gel ($12). Their just introduced, super moisturizing Mango Hydrating Face Crème ($24.99) targeted our cheeks (that had started to look a lot like those parched Prairies we just drove through.)

Our favorite pick was their Beach Blanket Sea Sponge Spa Soap ($8.49), with the alluring notes of papaya, mango and coconut. We grabbed handfuls of these moisturizing glycerin soaps with an exfoliating sea sponge encased within them, in the hopes of keeping the scents of summer around as long as possible.

The best part? Their great on-line store lets us keep our cupboards full without the drive. (Not that we don’t enjoy Medicine Hat, but we could do without Aunt Minnie’s annual inquisition on why we are always a bridesmaid, never a bride.)
